Get My Fire Place and Mantle Look

Last week I shared my coffee table look with you so I thought that I would share my fireplace and mantle. It pretty much correlates with my coffee table with the mercury glass but I have added some faux greenery and terracotta vases which I love.

Morning Skincare Routine

Happy Friday dolls!

We all know how important a good skincare routine is. To me the morning skincare line up is important. It is about protection and preservation, especially now that I am in my late 20s.

You could easily add about ten steps to your routine in the morning, but there four are important ones that I do every morning.

Tula Purifying Face Cleanser: This is easily the best cleanser I have ever used. It feels so great on my skin. This cleanser goes deep into your pores to remove impurities and helps condition skin.

Tula Pro-Glycolic Resurfacing Gel: This product is so amazing and it is so gentle on my sensitive skin. It uses probiotics, glycolic acid, and beetroot extract to gently exfoliate your skin. It leaves it smooth and hydrated.

La Mer Moisturizing Cream: I have been using this for about a year now and so happy that I started to use. It is so gentle and leaves my skin so soft.

Tula Revitalizing Eye Cream: I have always been picky about eye creams until I found this one. It hydrates the skin around the eyes which minimizes lines and dark circles.

Get My Coffee Table Look

Now that the holidays are over I put out my “everyday” coffee table decor and I could not be more proud of it. I love mercury glass, it is so timeless and goes with a lot of the decor around my home. I just love this beautiful, simple coffee table look.

From Colic, To Reflux, To A Nissen

Witching hour. When Lexi was about two months old she would cry and cry from about 9:00pm to 10:30pmish every night. That time frame was officially called witching hour in our house. This literally lasted for about a month or so. I thought this was her just being a bay since I am a first time mom, but it was colic.

After a few months she started spitting up from her mouth and out her nose a few times a day. in the course of a week it got worse. I was afraid to lay her down and leaving the room because I was scared that she may spit up and choke.

One day we were at her cardiologist’s office and he noticed her contorting her body and spitting up/refluxing bad and he admitted us to GHS. This was our third hospital visit with her, but I never knew you could get hospitalized for reflux problems. Once we were admitted they did tests for eight or nine days just to rule out anything else and to be sure in fact that it was reflux and that is what it was. They tried feeding her through A NG Tube that went to her stomach and that didn’t help. Then they tried an NJ Tube, that past the stomach into her small intestine and it helped a tiny bit. Eventually the doctors decided she needed to get a Nissen done, which they tie the upper stomach to her esophagus. Things can go down but nothing can come up.

They performed the surgery and it worked. She now has her Nissen. She doesn’t spit up anymore and she is on three medications to help her motility and heartburn. I am so thankful for the Nissen. It really has done wonders for Lexi and I am so thankful for the doctors at GHS.

Frankincense Oil

Recently I was talking with a fellow mommy blogger and she was telling me about how she started using Frankincense essential oil on her little girl. She was explaining to me about all the wonderful uses for it and since I have a special needs little girl I thought it would be great to start using on her. So when Belinda, a Young Living Silver Leader reached out to me about working together I immediately told her about my interest in the Frankincense Oil and why that one in particular. Belinda was so kind and sent me over a bottle of it and I instantly started using it on Lexi.

The benefits that got me excited about Frankincense are: ingest to support healthy cellular function, the aroma promotes a relaxation feeling, and supports healthy immune, nervous, and digestive function.

I highly recommend this oil and Belinda has been kind enough to offer a reader the chance to win a bottle of the Frankincense. If you are not interested in that one in particular you can always choose from Lemon, Theives, Lavender, and Copaiba. All you need to do is go to my Instagram page to enter.

Cozy Mom On The Go Look

I really love dressing up. Sometimes between the blog, Lexi’s appointments, and taking care of a home in general you just need a cozy on the go outfit. Of course I still try to look presentable and I always accomplish that because as a mom I feel if I am leaving the house it is an opportunity to look cute since I am in “mom clothes” at home.

I feel that this outfit is nice and cozy to run errands in with the baby. Leggings and this pullover are usually my go-to items. I absolutely love dressing up, but it is not necessarily  what I wear on the daily.

Lexi’s First Christmas

Hey dolls!

I am so happy to share our Christmas pictures with you all today. I know it is February, but we didn’t we a chance to shoot these until January since we were at MUSC until five days before Christmas. It was the best present to be able to get her well and back home and I am so grateful for that. I hope you all enjoy these pictures as much as I do.
