Six Months

First off I have to say that I can’t believe that six months has gone by since becoming a mommy. It is the best thing ever. I never knew I could love someone so much and honestly you really don’t know the feeling until it happens.

As you know Lexi was hospitalized for almost three months and now we have been home for a month and it has been amazing. She is a little behind but that is expected due to her chromosome deletion and because she was in fact in the hospital for so long. She is now starting to reach some of her milestones such as turning her head from side to side and following things. She is kicking a lot and loves to put her hands together. Also, sometimes she hold things with both hands and still loves her carrot rattle.

I am absolutely in love with this girl and so happy to have her home and see her grow.

Workout Wear

Happy Tuesday dolls!

Today I am going to share some of my favorite workout pieces with you all. I had lost all of my pregnancy weight, but with all of Lexi’s hospitalizations my eating and workouts have been falling short. Now we have been home for 3 weeks and I am ready to get back in the swing of things. What makes working out more exciting is buying all of my new workout wear.

What are some of your favorite pieces?

Lexi’s Heart Journey: Part 2

I am sorry that it has been so long since the last blog post, but as you read in the previous post Lexi has been in MUSC for heart surgery. It was a long road and a few weeks of recovery but we are finally home! She first got admitted into the hospital on October 10th and discharged on December 20th. It has been such a long 72 days, but we got through it as a family. The best part was that we were home in time for Christmas. On another note we recently took her for a follow up with her cardiologist and he is so happy with how her heart is looking. His exact words were “her heart is working like yours and mine”. You have no idea how happy I was to hear that!

I also want to take the time to thank you all for your kind words and prayers. It has meant a lot to our family. Thank you for following along on this journey.

Things To Do in Charleston, SC

Things to do in Charleston, South Carolina

Hey dolls! This year I want to incorporate a little bit of travel into the blog so the first place I want to talk about is Charleston, South Carolina.

We were down there for a few months while Lexi was at MUSC and I got a lot of questions about the city so I wanted to share a few favorites with you. I hope you’re all having a great week so far!  Since we have been down there for so long and of course we have been there before, I would share five of our favorite things to do and places in Charleston with you!

Shop on King Street. If you know anything about Charleston, then you probably have heard of King Street. There are so many wonderful shops there, as well as many of my favorite ones: Louis Vuitton, Club Monaco, Pottery Barn, and Kids on King. The beautiful scenery around you is enough to make you want to go shopping.

Eat at Halo Cafe. This place is right across the street from MUSC and oh my goodness it is amazing. They have yummy breakfast, sandwiches, and delicious coffee.

Go to the Farmer’s Market. If the weather is nice you have to check out the farmer’s market on King Street. They have fresh veggies, flowers, locally made goods, and coffee.

Walk around Rainbow Row. I am sure if you heard of Charleston, then you heard of Rainbow Row. The houses are so gorgeous with the arrangement of colors. You will see blue, pink, purple, and green homes; maybe I can talk the husband into painting our home pink?

Eat at Monza. If you are looking for a pizza that doesn’t involve the typical cheese and pepperoni, then this is the place to go. My favorite is one with that has mozzarella, prosciutto, and arugula. So delicious.

So there you have it. For the most part, all of these things are downtown or close to it, so it is easy to fit in a lot on a short trip. Please let me know if you have any questions.

10 Resolutions For 2018

Illustrated Fireworks New Year Card

Last year and basically every year I make a list of resolutions and will follow them for a bit and then don’t follow through. This year is going to be different. I am going to follow through with them. These are going to improve my daily life and am looking forward to it.

What are some of the resolutions on your list?

Go Unplugged for half an hour everyday. I believe this is something very much needed. It is the perfect time to just unwind and clear your mind.

Learn something new. I have always wanted to learn Spanish. I took French in high school and I’ll be honest that I don’t remember any of it. So I really want to learn some basic Spanish. Wish me luck.

Read to Lexi everyday. As you know Lexi is special needs so I really want to help her expand her mind even at such a young age. I believe that will be very beneficial to her as she grows up.

Improve my skin. Now that I am 29 I have become more aware that I need to protect my skin more. Of course I use products to keep it healthy, but I want to create a regimen and stick to it.

Take a woman’s vitamin. This one goes hand in hand with the above resolution. I am nearing 30 so I think this is a must.

Eat breakfast everyday. This is a meal that I usually skip. I don’t know why to be completely honest. I believe that this meal will really set my energy for the day so even a banana would make me happy.

Eat one healthy meal a day. I love food. I definitely am not a picky eater. I have to say that I am not the healthiest eater and that is something I need to work on.

Read one book a month. I used to read a lot, but its something that I haven’t kept up with lately. This is something that I want to change because it is relaxing to sit down and read a good book.

Be more organized. When I say this I mean my closet. I really need everything to be in order.

Go for a walk two to three times a week. This will be good for the mind and body.
